Additional perspective: John F. Kennedy's nickname at Choate was 'Shafty' which was awarded because of his proclivity for pranks, some of them vicious.... Should this have disqualified him from the presidency?
This whole thing is silly. I'm amazed it has had any "legs" at all among the chattering classes.
It's also pathetic, evidence that the elite media are still operating under the delusion that they still wield the same power they once did. Because of real competition (talk radio, the Internet, FOX News, etc.) they no longer do, but just can't bring themselves to admit it.
Even more pathetic is that far too many on the Right still believe they do as well.
